MARCH ASPIRATIONS

March seems to appear out of nowhere each year. One week we're frolicking in snow flurries and the next we're planting exotic vegetables and aerial flowers, paying a visit to our local florist to put whimsical bouquets of flower on display in our homes, and planning a spring vacation. There seems to be a fine line between the remnants of winter fading into the golden ambers of spring. It's a magical time where newborn birds raise their delicate heads to the sky to sing blissful songs, butterflies dance around from daffodils to tulips, and we cruise down the highway, beach bound, top down, with windswept hair as the distant winter memories fade behind us. As excited as I am for spring, I'm determined to stay focused and achieve some goals of mine.
Here's a look into my goals for the month of March...
01. Plan more weekend outings.
Recently, I've loved mapping out an engaging venue to explore for the day with Sarah. As we sit in an office chair at work, the notion of knowing we're going to have an eminent and memorable weekend motivates us to push through the work week. So far, we've explored the aquarium, Boone Hall, and Drayton Hall in three back to back weekends. I wonder what this weekend holds...
02. Stay committed to my gym routine and overall health.
A couple weeks ago, I discovered the holy grail of fitness experts. Not someone who lifts an insane amount of weight or who looks like a model, but rather someone who is genuine, strong, and supportive of likeminded women and has proved quality over quantity prevails in the gym. I have been consistently working out five days a week, and I would like to aim for six days one week this month. As far as eating goes, I've made tremendous strides there as well. From cutting significantly back on sugar (even natural sugar), to enjoying wholesome 'desserts' at night, to cutting back on starchy foods, I've seen great progress that I want to continue. Between fine tuning my workouts and eating habits, I'm encouraged to keep progressing in the health aspect.
03. Post once a week.
One of my new year's goals was to plan and write a blog post once a week. While I've mostly achieved that, there have been a couple weeks where I wasn't able to get out a blog post, this week included. (But this week, I'm hoping to publish another post at the end of the week to make up for my lack of posting last week). So, my goal for the month of March is to consistently post weekly. Writing is my passion, and while I get swept away by the monotonous day-to-day tasks of everyday life, I want to remind myself to do what I love, which includes writing posts.
04. Update my spring wardrobe.
While another one of my new year's resolutions was to spend minimal on clothes, it's quite apparent that my closet could use some lush pieces filled with pops of saffron, florals, and just some right ole vibrant spring colors. Although a bit more of a trivial goal, I will be putting a spending cap on my wardrobe update and buying clothes I can wear to work.
March is always such a whimsical month, and I'm excited to welcome in the wind, becoming florals, and seaside walks, which should make accomplishing my goals seem even more fun.
