VALENTINE'S DAY OUTFITS

Valentine's Day Outfits for a Range of Occasions...
Since Valentine's Day is quickly approaching, I thought I would give you a little inspiration with my top five outfits picks. Although sought as a senseless, sappy holiday, I personally think it's a sweet day to show extra love to the extra special people in your life. The beautiful color palette - blush pink, white, deep red, and maybe some gold sparkles (definitely some sparkles!) is enough for me to browse the aisles of every store and put nearly everything on a wish list. Add some dark chocolate and a lush date night outfit to the mix and I'm totally in.
While there's so many lovely outfit options, I've browsed some of my favorite stores and blogs and rounded up my five favorite Valentine's Day outfits. From casual sweaters to fancy dresses, I hope this posts gives you some direction on what to wear for your night out.
1. Red Dress
Admittedly, I've never been one to opt for a red dress, but honestly what a better time to wear one than on Valentine's Day? I love how you really can't go wrong - everyone expects to see red on Valentine's Day, even if it is a little out of the box for you. Depending on the dress style, the red tones can be sweet and subtle, or prominent and sexy.
2. Subtle Pop of Color
While I'm all for going full out on the lovely shades of pink and velvet red, Valentine's Day doesn't necessarily mean you have to flaunt a statement dress if that isn't your thing. Understandably so as my closet is filled with mainly neutrals. So, I think an elegant light pink coat over a simple white top, paired with leopard flats and your favorite pair of jeans is just perfect. It's such a smart yet endearing look.
3. Blush Sweater
If you know me or follow me on Instagram, you'll know that I'm a sucker for all things blush pink, so it's no surprise that I'm recommending a ~blush sweater~ here. Yet another subtle-tone piece. A whimsical sweater like one of these paired with your favorite black high waisted trousers is perfect for a low key date night while still maintaining a heart day vibe. The texture and frill adds a sophisticated element, perfect for wearing any time, really.
4. Basic with an Interesting Twist
I found this pair of jeans on & Others Stories and I'm obsessed! I love how they took such a basic piece - jeans - and added a quirk - heart patches. So creative. The high rise is so flattering for the waist, and the straight cropped leg make this pair of jeans adorable yet eccentric at the same time.
5. Heart Prints
I'm ending my list with my absolute favorite outfit idea - heart prints! While I absolutely adore all the suggestions above, nothing says Valentine's Day more sharply than wearing your heart on your sleeve (literally). What better occasion than Valentine's Day to deck out in a fun heart print sweater or dress? It's totally appropriate and exciting. I love how the dress features a larger white heart-print pattern with ruffles on top and the same, smaller print on the bottom. As for the sweater, all I have to say is I'm in love with every aspect - from the mix of red and blue color palette to the material and the fit - I want one now!
I hope these five outfit ideas has helped you pick out your favorite Valentine's Day outfit! What's your favorite piece from this post? Let me know how you'll be spending your Valentine's Day (cozy on the couch with lush dark chocolate and a classic movie, or out and about, or a mix of both!)
