THE WIRED GOAT

As autumn rolls around again (!!) I'm oh so excited for all things pumpkin spice. From lattes to pies, to candles, I love anything pumpkin spice scented or flavored. I'm not a coffee addict, in fact, up until recently I hadn't had a cup in many months, but after discovering this hipster coffee shop tucked away in the Vista, I am completely hooked. Now this could be because I'm a connoisseur of pumpkin spice and/or due to the fact that I'm a sucker for a laid-back hipster coffee shop. I was drawn to The Wired Goat immediately by the vibe of the cafe and as I saw the words “we can easily customize most items to make them vegan." Um YES.

The Wired Goat specializes in coffee, but they serve anything from savory sandwiches to indulgent french toast with fruit compotes and a huge selections of sweet scones. I went for a black bean veggie burger (without cheese and substitute mayo for spicy mustard) and of course a pumpkin spice latte for dinner because that's completely normal. One amazing thing about the food I got is that it was so delicious yet filling, and I had absolutely no late night dinner cravings afterwards.

Okay so everyone loves good coffee and good food, but equally important is the staff. At The Wired Goat, the staff is second to none. I had a long chat with barista Taylor before even ordering and she was so helpful and nice to talk to. She also helped me out by talking my way out of having to pay $5 to park that night (or I could've stayed parked where I was and got my car towed for a casual $200). Thanks to Taylor, it was super easy for me to get a parking place so I could take my time eating dinner without feeling rushed while waiting on a friend. I was already hooked on the food, but she went completely out of her way to be helpful and amazing and I'm hooked on the entire aspect of The Wired Goat. Actually, all of the staff have been absolutely amazing each time.

The Wired Goat is not only a beautiful cafe in its own right, but there is a downstairs area filled with hipster style couches and relaxing dim light. It's a perfect place to just chill out or get work done in a quiet, cozy area because yes they have free wifi. The main floor (upstairs) also has a few lush chairs to curl up in and feel right at home while sipping your choice of coffee and typing away on your laptop. And as I said earlier, it's usually pretty quiet and not over crowded, so it's literally the most perfect coffee shop.

I would totally recommend popping into The Wired Goat if you are ever in Columbia, SC. Everyone is super friendly, the food is beyond tasty, and you will find it incredibly hard to leave. I honestly could live here and sleep on the couches at night and work there during the day.
